New people find their way faster. Experience stays within reach.

Knowhand shows who can help with what, across departments, sites and shifts: for onboarding and for knowledge transfer before retirement. No ranking, no per-person evaluation, and a template for the works agreement.

  • 30 days free, no credit card
  • One price for the whole company, from €99 a month (founding price, instead of €129)
  • For 20 to 500 people
From HR
“Who shows new starters how things really work here?”

What Knowhand does for HR and people teams.

Onboarding that doesn't hang on one person.

New starters don't know the internal paths yet. On the board they ask once, visible to everyone, instead of guessing whom they may disturb. The directory shows by category and tag who knows their way around.

Knowledge transfer before retirement.

The person who has known the machine for twenty years answers questions on the board while they are still here. Solved requests stay findable in the archive with the note on the solution, even after they leave; people who have left appear there as “Former member”. Knowhand does not replace a handover, but it keeps what was solved.

Connections across sites.

Production doesn't ask accounting, the new site doesn't know the old one. On the board everyone sees the same categories, and the question reaches people you don't know yet.

Co-determination with a template.

No ranking, no points, no per-person evaluation in the interface, not even for admins. Figures exist only for the whole board and only from ten members. The model works agreement is ready.

13.3 million people in Germany's labour force will reach statutory retirement age in the next 15 years, 30 percent of the entire labour force.
Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis), press release of 23 June 2026
Asking pays off: in experiments, people who asked for help underestimated how often others agree to a direct request by as much as 50 percent.

What knowledge transfer looks like on the board.

An example from a mid-sized company: the question reaches the colleagues who worked with the retiree. The solution stays in the archive.

How you get started.

Start small, with real questions, and decide after 30 days. The board guides you along the way.

  1. 1

    Create the board

Sign in with your work address, set logo and colour. Whoever creates the board is admin and sees a start plan on the board: brand, profile, first request, starter team.

  2. 2

    Invite a starter team

Three to five people who like to ask and like to help. Under Invite you find ready-made texts with your invite link to copy.

  3. 3

    Ask ten real questions

Questions that are genuinely open right now. On days 1, 3, 7 and 14 the admin gets an email with the current state and the next step, with an unsubscribe link.

  4. 4

    Decide after 30 days

Solved requests show you whether it works. The email on day 14 lists members, real and solved requests. The trial ends by itself, nothing is charged.

Can we test Knowhand before the works agreement is in place?

That is for you to agree with your works council. Knowhand makes a small start easy: after creating the board, switch off automatic joining through the company domain under Admin › Members, so only people you invite get in. Invite three to five people. The AI assistant is off by default. Give the review pack and the model works agreement to the works council in advance.

What it looks like on the board.

The directory shows who knows what.

Categories, tags, team and role, filled in voluntarily. Anyone short on time sets that in their profile and gets fewer requests.

The first question is easy to ask.

Templates for the usual needs: contact wanted, experience wanted, second opinion, quick question, collaboration. Plus effort and deadline, so helpers know what they are signing up for.

The usual objections and our answers.

Is Knowhand performance monitoring?

No, Knowhand evaluates nobody: no ranking, no points, no per-person response times, no last-online indicator. Only the person themselves sees their thank-you count. Software can still require co-determination; the model works agreement is ready for that.

Do employees actually take part in Knowhand?

That depends mostly on how you start. People help more often than those asking expect (Flynn and Lake, 2008). Start with three to five people and ten real questions before you invite everyone. Profiles are voluntary, and anyone short on time says so in their profile.

How much work does Knowhand create for HR?

Set up once: logo, colours, categories and templates. After that, new people join through the company domain by themselves or through an invite link. When someone leaves, you remove them on the board under Admin › Members, because Knowhand is not connected to your directory.

How does everyone get into Knowhand?

Through the company address: anyone who signs in with it joins automatically, unless the admin turns that off. Everyone else joins through an invite link. No import of HR data, no access to your directory.

Who decides on Knowhand and pays for it?

Usually management. Pass on the prepared text below. You can also create the trial yourself: 30 days, no credit card.
